There are times in your life when the path you wanted to go on suddenly becomes unavailable. In that moment, you may feel like you’re screwed. Like there’s nothing left to do that would make you feel less of a disappointment. Like it’s the end of the world. But the truth is that the Earth is still spinning. The Sun will rise the next day. As for you, a door is closed. But the majestic mansion that is your future, opens up all its windows.
“When a door closes, knock on it a few times. But if it still doesn’t open, let it stay closed.”
I’ve come to the realization that everything happens for a reason. So if the thing you’ve always wished for becomes something you can’t have, it might be for your own good. Maybe the timing isn’t right, maybe you have to work harder. Or maybe it just isn’t made to be. Greater things might be waiting for you elsewhere.
My life is now guided by this principle. Every time something is out of my grasp, I stop and think. Is this something I really want? Am I ready? Do I see myself doing it for the rest of my life? It is only deep down that you’ll find your answers. I found mine. And I found something better every time a door closed.
