If you are anything like me, you know how hard it might seem to get things started. I wait for the weekend, I wait for the spring, I wait until chances are gone. I waited enough for writing on my blog, too. Chances are, you have no reason to do so. Chances are, you’re not lazy. Chances are you’re just comfortable.
So stop whatever you’re doing right now and ask yourself this question:
What is the one thing you’ve always wished to do but you postponed it?
Firstly, identify what you want. You are the only one who can control where your life is going. No one else can dictate your desires, no one else knows you the way you do. This is the start you need in order to move forward and achieve your goals. And the time is now. Trust your gut. If you want it hard enough, you can surely do it.
You might doubt yourself. But you are good enough to start and you can accomplish everything you put your mind to. There’s a quote that I’ve seen a lot these days:
“Be willing to be a beginner every single morning.”
So go out there and be a beginner. Mess up, stumble over yourself. Be so bad at it so you can see your progress. Be a beginner so you can become the best.
If this isn’t enough to make you take action, also ask yourself why. Why aren’t you doing the things you wish for? Whatever reason you might think you have is not good enough. Trust me on that. Those are just excuses your defense mechanism is building up so you don’t step out of your comfort zone. In my experience, comfort zones don’t get you anywhere. Don’t settle.
Following this pattern, the next question would have to be how. How are you going to accomplish what you want? Still, the answer to this would only make us go in circles. Because it is simple: by starting. Take the first step now. It doesn’t have to be something colossal, baby steps are fine. Daydreaming and planning are also fine, but you’re not going anywhere if you don’t act out.
I hope you find within you the power to do so. Inspiration is just around the corner.
